George R. Fischer, age 66, a resident of Fieldcrest Manor, 1510 South 30th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Fieldcrest Manor.

George was born May 25, 1948 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Walter and Genevieve Markiewcz Fischer. George was a graduated of Green Bay East High School with the class of 1966. He then entered the United States Air Force and served overseas in Korea and Germany. After his honorable discharge George became employed with Manitowoc Cranes from where he retired due to poor health.

George is survived by one brother and sister-in-law: Walter "Butch" and Bernice Fischer Jr., Green Bay; one sister: Carol Wilson, Green Bay; his former wife: Patricia Zahn, Green Bay; four nephews: Ron, Steve, and Tim Wilson and Joe Fischer; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Genevieve Fischer; aunts, uncles and one niece.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Al Boeldt officiating. Immediately following the memorial services, military rites will be accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Otto Oas Post #659 at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of the cremains at Fort Howard Memorial Park, Green Bay at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m.
