George A. Kluenker Jr., age 93, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at River Woods Place.
George was born on July 29, 1922 in Manitowoc to the late George and Amanda Sampe Kluenker Sr. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1941. On September 16, 1944 George married Lucile Lutze in the Town of Liberty. She preceded him in death December 18, 1976. On July 29, 1978, George married Edna Lutze at St. John's United Church of Christ in Schwarzwald. George was primarily employed at Dick Brothers Bakery and St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, travelling, and spending time with his family and friends. George was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include George's wife: Edna; two daughters: Shirley (Bob) Brooks, Howards Grove; and Judy Brunner and her special friend John Casper, Hilbert; stepdaughter: Meribeth Hauenstein, Las Cruces, NM; stepson: Steven Lutze, Plymouth; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; special niece: Donna Ellert, Manitowoc; also other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents: George and Amanda Kluenker Sr.; wife: Lucile; and daughter: Dorothy Kluenker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
