Geraldine I. "Geri" Reinicke, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.
Geri was born on February 16, 1927 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Sydow Backus. Geri was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1945. She was an Avon representative in the Manitowoc area for many years.
On March 25, 1967 she married Robert H. "Hans" Reinicke in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1997. Geri was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Manitowoc Curling Club and the Elks Club Auxiliary. She was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels and also volunteered at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and St. Mary's Home.
She is survived by seven children: Stephen (Cindy) Birringer, Carefree, AZ; Patricia Fujikawa,
Honolulu, HI; Joan (Stephen) Haig, Rockville Center, NY; Robert (Patti) Reinicke, San Clemente, CA; Diane Reinicke, Oshkosh; Dr. Mark (Dr. Mylene) Reinicke, Colorado Springs, CO; and Charles Reinicke, West Allis; seventeen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one sister: Kelly "Eunice" Lorenzen, Centennial, CO; brother-in-law: Donald Bauer, Manitowoc; sister-in-law: Johanna "Hannemie" Schaefer, Detroit, MI; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Irene Backus, husband: Robert "Hans" Reinicke; two sons: Peter and Eric; one sister: Arline Bauer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Dave Pleier. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening. The visitation will continue at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral services a luncheon will be held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
