Glen Czechanski, age 54, a resident of 1502 Kuhl Street, Manitowoc died on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center after a brave fight with lung cancer which spread to his brain.
Glen was born on October 28, 1959 to Thomas and Joan (Knutson) Czechanski. He grew up and was primarily educated in Two Rivers. Glen was employed as a machinist at Hamilton Industries for many years. He married the former Sherry Ploor immediately following high school. After they divorced, Glen moved to Corpus Christi, TX where he was employed as a machinist for Turner Machine Shop. Glen also earned his G.E.D. from Del Mar College during his stay in Corpus Christi. Glen relocated to San Antonio, TX and continued to work as a machinist for Maytag while pursuing training to qualify for Land Surveying. He then relocated to Austin, TX where he was employed as a surveyor with Nationwide Surveyors, Inc. Finally, Glen returned to Two Rivers where he was employed at Mirro Corporation as a spray painter.
Glen was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR. Glen worked hard and played hard his whole life. He is survived by his fiancé, Michele LaFond, Manitowoc; two brothers: Robert and Thomas Czechanski, Two Rivers; two aunts: Barb Peroutka and her husband Al, Arizona, and Lori Mullin; numerous cousins, friends; and his special friend Deb Johnson, Manitowoc, also survive. Glen was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandparents; parents: Thomas and Joan Czechanski; and brother: John Czechanski.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
