Glenn Arthur Daugs, age 76, a Manitowoc resident, peacefully entered into eternal life while surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.
Glenn was born on July 30, 1933 in Manitowoc to the late Arthur and Minnie Wetenkamp Daugs. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. On April 1, 1957, Glenn married Shirley Buhk in Iron Mountain, MI. He worked for 42 years at Manitowoc Engineering as a machinist, and later volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels. Glenn enjoyed spending his time woodworking, fishing, bowling (until Shirley's scores surpassed his), and above all enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was a member of First German Evangelical Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include Glenn's wife of 53 years, Shirley; five daughters: Dawn Czekala, Lori (Todd) Boeckman, Jody Laes, Wendy (Carl) Artman, and Jenny (Jason) Isselmann; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister: Dorothy (Nyle) Taddy; his family dog: C.J.; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Glenn was preceded in death by parents, three sisters: Janet Drews, Marian Luchsinger, and Marlene Elliot; one brother: Lyle Daugs; and his mother-in-law: Edna Nuenfeldt.
The family will greet relatives and friends at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1033 S. 8th Street, Manitowoc on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 9 am until the beginning of the memorial service at 11 am. Rev. David Rosenow will officiate.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be made to First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
