Obituary

Gregory Peroutka passed away on March 27th, 2026, at age 75.

He was born on February 16th, 1951, to Mayme (Wachal) Peroutka and John (Jack) Peroutka in Manitowoc. Greg attended Mishicot High School, Lakeshore Technical Institute, and truck driving school.  In his youth, Greg would get up before school to work on various farms in the Francis Creek area, he always enjoyed farming as a side hobby. Greg was united in marriage to Faye Armstrong on June 14, 1975, and later had a daughter together, Sonya. His working years included jobs at Lauson Chevrolet, Two Rivers Concrete Corporation, Haug Machine Factory, Magregor Trucking, Allstates Rigging and finally Mike Marek Trucking, which he retired from. Greg was extremely hard working and sometimes held two jobs to support his family. He was mechanically skilled and could fix everything from automobiles to household repair projects.  Greg was a wonderful neighbor on Polifka Road and enjoyed helping his neighbors and deeply valued their friendships. In his later years, he enjoyed playing golf, going out for breakfast with his Sunday morning breakfast crew, and cutting firewood. In the year before his illness, he found purpose and value with volunteering at Pinecrest Historical Village.

Greg is survived by his children Ken (Bev) Peroutka, and Kari (Mark) Plautz; son-in-law Terry Kunesh; grandchildren Bridget Peroutka, Anna and Josef Plautz, Candie Kunesh and bonus grandchildren Kollen, Heather, Peter, Shane and Crystal Kunesh; siblings Marlene Schultz, Jack (Elaine) Peroutka, Bill (Joyce) Peroutka, and Tom Peroutka, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rick and Peggy Armstrong, along with nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Faye, daughter Sonya Kunesh, his parents, in-laws Bill & Phyllis Armstrong, brother-in-law Don Schultz, and sister-in-law Bonnie Peroutka.
