Obituary

Hans J. Prange, age 75, a Manitowoc resident, died peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Hans was born on August 30, 1939 in Herene North Rhine, Westphalia Germany. He was the son of the late Johann and Laura (Bruns) Prange. Hans immigrated to America in March of 1951 to New York at the age of 11. From there he moved to Milwaukee to join his relatives. He graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee with the class of 1958. Upon graduation he completed Naturalization of Citizenship and joined the United States Army. He started his military service as a driver and interpreter to a Full Bird Colonel in Germany and finished his service as a medic in Colorado Springs, CO. On March 12, 1960 he married Pat Bartz. After being honorably discharged from the United States Army Hans was employed with management consulting firms for 22 years working all over the United States and Europe and was a partner at Diversified Business Resources of Appleton. Together with his wife Pat, they owned and operated The Tailgate Restaurant and Motel in Mountain, and The Lakewood Yamaha Shop in Lakewood. After moving to Manitowoc he was the Vice President of Classic Modular Systems in Two Rivers, and a manager for Saussip Manufacturing in DePere, Wisconsin and California. Hans retired his career working as a Dairy Manager at Wal-Mart in Manitowoc.

He is survived by his wife: Lillian "Pat" Jessie Prange, Manitowoc; son and daughter-in-law: John and Lori Prange, Two Rivers; daughter and son-in-law: Jeannine and Anthony Petrzelka, Whitelaw; grandchildren: Benjamin, Victoria, Jacob, Laura, and Daniel Petrzelka; step-granddaughter: Samantha Ricker; great grandchildren: Lunamay and Airia Petrzelka; step-great granddaughter: Alexis Ricker; step-sister-in-law: Sientje Huisman,The Netherlands; sisters-in-law: Jeannine George and Susanne Bartz; brother-in-law: Albert (Lettie Lee) Bartz, step-nephew: Roelof Huisman,The Netherlands; step-niece Coba Huisman,The Netherlands; cousins: Gerald and Trudy Boettcher and Doris Rosenburg; godchildren: Jeff O'Laughlin, Kari George, Bradley Bartz, and Jason Bartz. He was preceded in death by his father: Johann Prange on June 23, 1942; his mother: Laura (Bruns, Prange) Reuter on January 13, 1993; step-brother: Jan Huisman in September 2012; brothers-in-law: Richard Bartz on March 6, 1991 and William George on November 15, 2014.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Jed Manders. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Following the funeral services military rites will be accorded by the Amvets Post #99 at the funeral home followed by a luncheon for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Graveside services led by Rev. Jed Manders will take place at the Mountain Cemetery in Mountain, WI at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
