Harlan R. Belongia, age 74, a Whitelaw resident, entered eternal life surround by his family on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay.
Harlan was born June 19, 1942 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Ralph and Adeline Kadow Belongia. Harlan attended Lincoln High School. In 1960 he entered the United States Army and served overseas in Germany. After his honorable discharge in 1963 he returned to Manitowoc. On October 12, 1963 he married Fay A. Fargo at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Harlan was employed as an electrician with Mirro Aluminum from where he retired on his birthday, June 19, 2002. He enjoyed deer hunting and sports with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Fay; three children: Leah (Wayne) Duchow, Valders; Patrick (Ann) Belongia, Manitowoc; Wade (Lori) Belongia, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Tyler (Kassi) Duchow, Trevor (Nessa) Duchow, Tanner Duchow, Zachary Belongia, and Hannah Belongia; one great granddaughter: Ellie Duchow; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Adeline Belongia; one great grandson: Jackson Duchow; one brother: Robert Belongia.
Memorial services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
