Harriet T. Peach

Harriet T. Peach, age 100, a resident of the Villas at Felician Village in Manitowoc, entered Eternal Life on June 11, 2026, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

Harriet was born on August 3, 1925, in Chicago, IL, to her parents Harry and Anna (Napolski) Szyperski. After graduating high school, she worked with her father at her uncle’s bank, Second Federal Savings in Chicago. She married Lester Peach on September 29, 1951, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. They then settled in Grand Beach, MI, where they lived for more than 40 years. They were active members of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in nearby New Buffalo, MI. Harriet was a longtime employee of New Buffalo Savings Bank in New Buffalo, while Lester commuted on the train into Chicago where he was a professor at Illinois Institute of Technology. In 1988 Harriet and Lester moved to Manitowoc to live at the Gardens at Felician Village, which her sister, Sister Mary Claude Szyperski developed and directed for many years. Harriet assisted in all manner of things at Felician Village, and volunteered her time to help her sister make Felician Village “a home with a heart” and a strong community institution. For many years, Harriet also served as a Sacristan in the Blessed Angela Chapel, preparing for the Masses there. She found enjoyment in taking care of people. Giving her time and effort to the community was of the utmost importance to Harriet.

Harriet is survived by her nieces and nephews Ann Marie (Michael) Kennedy, Jim Votava, Lynn (Greg) Short, Richard J. Szyperski, Catherine (Jim) Thrash, Therese Webb, Mary (Ron) Rummell, and Michael H. (Sarah) Szyperski; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Anna Szyperski, husband Lester Peach, and siblings Anna Mae Szyperski (Harriet’s twin), Richard T. (Jan) Szyperski, Loretta (Joseph) Votava, and Sister Mary Claude Szyperski.

Visitation will be held at Felician Village Blessed Angela Chapel, 1635 S. 21st St., Manitowoc, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice are appreciated.
