Obituary

Harvey Prausa, age 88, of Bloomington, Minnesota formerly of 317 East Reed Ave., Manitowoc, entered eternal life late Thursday evening, June 21, 2012 in Bloomington.

Harvey was born on December 31, 1923 in the town of Lincoln, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Algoma High School with the class of 1942. Harvey was in the United States Army serving overseas in the European Theatre for 3 ½ years during World War II. He also served in the Army Reserves for 21 years and retired as a CWO3. Harvey had been employed for 26 years at Weyerhaeuser Company from where he retired in 1982. On June 25, 1947 he married Edna Pavlat at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Casco, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2005. Harvey was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #710, 3rd Degree Grand Knight and 4th Degree Faithful Navigator. He also had been involved with the Noon Optimist Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Otto Oas Post #659 for many years. Harvey and Edna loved to travel having visited all 50 of the United States. They also loved spending time on their pontoon boat on Wheeler Lake in Lakewood.

He is survived by his daughter: Tari L. Prausa and Robert W. Trouten, Bloominton, MN; a very special niece: Karen Baugniet-Konkle; along with other nieces and nephews to include: Ronnie and Cynthia Vandermause; Gene and Mary Ann Vandermause; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Betty Prausa; his wife: Edna; one sister: Margaret Graf; one infant brother: Milton Prausa.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Lakewood, Wisconsin. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Jason Blanek with burial to follow at the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00.
