Obituary

Helen Olson LaCrosse, age 95, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life late Sunday evening, July 6, 2014 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.

Helen was born August 28, 1918 in Ootsburg, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Adolph and Otillie Severson Kernin. Helen had been employed in past years at Lakeside Foods and Mirro Aluminum and then she took over owning and operating the Tower Tavern from 1958 until 1979. Helen was married to Roydan R. Olson on March 18, 1939 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1968. She later married Clayton LaCrosse on August 9, 1971 in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2002. She was a member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Roydan D. and Sandra Olson, Manitowoc, WI; one daughter and son-in-law: Marianne and Randy Ditewig, Manitowoc, WI; four grandchildren: Kelly (John) Jelinek, Craig (Julie) Olson, William Meier III, Melissa Meier; three great great grandchildren: Callie Olson, Henry Olson, Abraham Olson; one brother: Robert (Ellen) Peters, Manitowoc, WI; one sister: Lorraine (Marvin) Kalk, Waupaca, WI; six step children: Raymond (Sandy) Johnson, Donald LaCrosse, Patricia Ulsberger, Sherrie Sipiorski, Nancy Genrich, Barbara Eyke; two step grandchildren: Cody Ditewig and Jenny Baumann; one step great grandchild: Payten Baumann; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Adolph and Otillie Kernin; her first husband: Roydan R. Olson; second husband: Clayton LaCrosse; stepfather: Joseph Peters; two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Benjamin Schaefer with burial to follow at Knollwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
