Irene F. Boettcher's Obituary
Irene Flora Boettcher, age 85, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at River Wood in Manitowoc.
Irene was born on December 24, 1929 in West Bend to the late Harry and Stella Basler Trott. Through baptism, she became a member of God's family on January 5, 1930 at St. John's Lutheran Church in West Bend, and that faith was confirmed on April 18, 1943 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allenton. On May 24, 1947, Irene married Earl H. Boettcher at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allenton. She was self-employed as a hairdresser for many years, and was also talented in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and even taught herself tatting. Irene was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, watching birds, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends – especially her great grandchildren. Irene had a smile that could light up any room!
Survivors include Irene's husband of 67 years: Earl; son: Donald E. (Sharon) Boettcher, Golden, CO; daughter: Kristine A. (James) Carolfi, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Carrie (Frank) Digironimo, Tammy (Mark) Kaiser, Kelly (Jeremy) Fischer, and Jeremiah (Katie) Carolfi; eight great grandchildren: Sierra, Dagney, Anthony, Benjamin, Carmen, Colten, Jacob, and Cade; brother: Roy (Celia) Trott, West Bend; two sisters: Doris Hafemann, Bayfield; and Bernice Hailey, Mayville; also other relatives and friends. Irene was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Vernette.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with burial to take place at West Bend Memorial Park at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Irene's name to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
