Irving H. Goeke, age 77, a resident of Moosehaven in Jacksonville, FL, and formerly of Mount Morris, IL and Manitowoc, WI; entered eternal life following a lengthy battle with cancer on September 2, 2012.

Irv was born on March 26, 1935 in Newton, WI to the late Arthur and Hedwig (Vetter) Goeke. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1952. Irv enlisted with the US Army and served his country with the European Occupation Forces after World War II. On January 16, 1966, Irv married Dorothy Czarnecki. During their retirement years, Irv and Dorothy enjoyed spending their time traveling across the country and making many friends along the way.

Survivors include Irv's wife of 49 years: Dorthy, Jacksonville, FL; daughter: Anita (Keith) Ward, Milwaukee; stepson: Jim Wenzowski; stepdaughter: Kathy (Dale) Freeman; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of Illinois; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Norbert (Margie) Goeke, Columbia, SC; and Mathilda Goeke, Manitowoc, WI; also nieces nephews, other relatives and his many friends. Irv was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Lucille (Raymond) Roskom and Adeline (Raymond) Suring; and Leland (VanDella Krause) Goeke. He was followed in death by his brother Donald Goeke.
