Obituary

James J. Bruechert, age 81, a Two Rivers resident, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at his home.

He was born September 23, 1943 in Manitowoc, WI, son of the late Harold and Fern (Levy) Bruechert. Jim attended Washington High School, Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1961. Following high school, he attended University of Wisconsin Madison, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1965. Jim worked in the automotive industry right out of college. After that, he moved to Seattle, where he worked at the Boeing Corporation, contributing to the design of electronic systems for the new 747 airplanes. Jim later returned to Wisconsin and spent 38 years at Eggers Industries from 1976 to 2014, ultimately retiring as a Hazardous Waste and Maintenance Manager. Jim's hobbies included walking around his property and neighborhood. In his younger years, he enjoyed tending to his garden, home projects, and bird watching.

Jim is survived by one sister-in-law: Theresa Bruechert; nieces and nephews: Robert Bruechert (Nicolle Bruechert), Thomas Bruechert (Lori Duke) and Charles Bruechert; great-nieces and great-nephews: Madisen Duke-Bruechert, Robyn Bruechert, Nicholas Duke-Bruechert, Caitlyn Bruechert, Austin Duke-Bruechert, Faith Bruechert, Abigail Bruechert, and Caleb Bruechert; two aunts: Judy Levy, Eleanor Kleiman, and a host of Levy, Paquette, Kleiman, Ihlenfeldt, and Bruechert cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother: Harold R. Bruechert; his parents: Harold H. and Fern (Levy) Bruechert, six aunts: Dolores Bruechert, Hazel Paquette, Lucille Bruechert, Dorothy Ihlenfeldt, Mary Ann Levy, Beulah Levy; nine uncles: Robert Levy, Merlin Levy, Arden Levy, Vernon Paquette, Reinhold Bruechert, Raymond Bruechert, William Bruechert, Otto Bruechert, and Donald Levy.

Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 N. Water Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Lisa Novachek. Jim will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth, at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
