James H. DeFaut, age 81, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life Thursday evening, December 25, 2014 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

Jim was born on March 11, 1933 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Frank and Marie Hallisey DeFaut. From 1955 to 1957 Jim was employed with the Standard Service Station on North 10th Street, Manitowoc; from 1957 to 1970 he was employed with Wisconsin Fuel and Light; from 1970 to 1977 Jim worked at Manitowoc Shipbuilding; and from 1977 until he retired in 1995 Jim was employed as the supervisor of buildings and grounds at St. Petersburg Junior College, St. Petersburg, Florida. On April 14, 1988 Jim married Greta Karp.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years: Greta; two daughters: Denise Kurth, Manitowoc, WI; Michelle (Zadok) Dismuke and children, New Bern, NC; two step daughters: Debra Stagnitta and children, Largo, FL; Sandra Franco and children, Statesville, NC; one sister: Grace (Robert) Glaeser, North Fond du Lac, WI; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Marie DeFaut.
