James W. Remiker

James W. Remiker, age 86, of Mishicot, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

Jim was born on September 24, 1939, in Kewaunee County to the late George and Sophia (Stehula) Remiker Sr. He attended school in Mishicot and then enlisted in the Army Reserves. Jim began his construction career driving with Princl Transfer and then started driving truck for Stahl Construction in 1973 until his retirement in 2001. He married Sharon VanEss at St. Mark’s Church in Two Rivers on August 19, 1961. Together they enjoyed many years of camping with "The Camping Bunch,” snowmobiling and summer picnics. Jim was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed catching pan fish in his spare time, small game hunting and growing a garden. Jim also enjoyed doing puzzles. He was a member of Mishicot Sportsman’s Club and the Mishicot Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with family and attending their events.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Sharon Remiker; five children: Lori Remiker, Tampa, FL, Dennis (Tammy) Remiker, Mishicot, Cindy (Kyle Strehlow) Remiker, Mishicot, Julie Krejcarek, Green Bay, David (Melissa) Remiker, Two Rivers; grandchildren: Bryce (Brooke) Krejcarek, Owatonna, MN, Collin (Paige) Krejcarek, Northglenn, CO, Derek (Tayler) Krejcarek, Mishicot, Kendra (Trevor Wittmus) Krejcarek, Chilton, Colton (Katie) Remiker, Green Bay, Drew Remiker, Two Rivers, Cole Remiker, Two Rivers, Allie (Trevor) Kadow, Mishicot, Kora Mraz, Reedsville; great-grandchildren: Emerson Kadow, Nora and Macie Krejcarek, Benson Krejcarek; siblings: Ralph Remiker, Carol Adams, Robert (Mary) Remiker, Ruth Mueller, Pat Remiker (Darlene), Joannie (Ronald) Duckart; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jan Remiker, Ginger Remiker, Edward VanEss, Gloria Helmer, Wayne Miller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edward and Bernice (Feuerstein) VanEss; siblings: George (Elaine) Remiker, Jeanie (Joe) Krupka, Lucille (Milton) Groelle, Donald (Ruth) Remiker, Katie (Norbert) Naidl, LeRoy (Jeanette) Remiker, Paul Remiker, Allan Remiker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Doris Remiker, Tom Adams, Gordy Mueller, Karen VanEss, Dave Helmer, Diane Miller, and Margaret Ann VanEss.

Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.

Jim’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Aurora at Home Hospice, especially Kayla, for her loving care during her visits, along with Pam and the Home Health Care providers for all their kindness and support.
