Obituary

James D. Rysticken, age 72, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Wednesday evening, March 1, 2017 at his residence.

Jim was born on February 6, 1945 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Leo and Mabel Strouf Rysticken. Jim was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1963. He continued his education in tool and die making at Lakeshore Technical College for two years. Jim was employed with Mirro Aluminum for 38 years and retired as the head of the department of skilled labor management. On February 12, 1966 he married Marilyn C. Kirchen at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. Jim also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their cottage in Door County. He also enjoyed following the Green Bay Packers. Jim's grandchildren were a very special part of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Marilyn; three children: Mark (Sarah) Rysticken, Manitowoc; Susie Oswald, Manitowoc, and her special friend, Scott Johnson; Jenny Schuhmacher and special friend, John Kropp, Platteville; five grandchildren: Eric Oswald, Emma Rysticken, Kathryn Rysticken, Stella Schuhmacher, and Harper Schuhmacher; one brother: Thomas (Lynn) Rysticken, Two Rivers; sister-in-law: Lorraine Rysticken, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leo and Mabel Rysticken; and one brother: Richard Rysticken.

Private memorial services for the family will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home followed by a luncheon at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
