James D. Schroeder, age 77, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, September 13, 2014.

Jim was born on August 12, 1937 in Milwaukee to the late Paul and Faye Brown Schroeder. He graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee with the class of 1956. Jim completed his education at St. Norbert College in DePere. On May 5, 1962, Jim married June Pitts. Jim had worked as a police officer for the village of Whitefish Bay for 30 years. He was a very devoted husband and father, and enjoyed spending his time hunting and being with his family and friends.

Survivors include Jim's wife of 52 years: June; son: Dan Schroeder; daughter: Nancy Nicandro; grandson: Aaron Nicandro; brother: Bruce Schroeder; sister: Susan Barda; also other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his brother: David Schroeder; and sister: Ann Sproul.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Cremation will take place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon.
