Jean H. Best, 82, of Manitowoc, a former resident of Glenwood City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Holy Family Memorial Hospital under the care of Holy Family Memorial Hospice.

She was born on August 8, 1938 in Meeker County, Minnesota to the late Anthony and Cordelia (Dahlman) Fischer.  Jean was raised on the family farm with her two sisters and three brothers.  She was united in marriage to Edward Wolter and together they had four children.  After Edward passed away, she later married Robert Best in Hudson.

Jean was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Glenwood City and was also a member of the Auxiliary.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Kay (Stan) Rask of Colorado, Mike Wolter of Manitowoc, Randy (Debbie) Wolter of Manitowoc, and Debi Wolter (fiancé, Randy Brooke) of Sheboygan; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Helen Fischer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Cordelia Fischer; special friend, Fritz Harer; husbands, Robert Best and Edward Wolter; sisters, Frieda and Gladys; and brothers, Johnny (Laverne), David (Marge), and Fred.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Julie Barger officiating.  There will be a reception for family and friends following the service at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.  Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com .
