Joan Lyn Forsberg-Lawrence, age 59, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at her home.

She was born May 18, 1964 in Manitowoc, daughter of Dennis and Jeannine (Retzlaff) Forsberg. Joan attended Manitowoc Lutheran High School, graduating with the class of 1982. Following high school, she enlisted in the United States Army. Joan was employed with Holy Family Memorial since July 8, 1987 as a critical care unit clerk. She had a great sense of humor both at work and home, and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and coworkers at Holy Family.

Joan is survived by her two sons: John (Melissa) Lawrence and Jeremiah Lawrence; her parents: Dennis and Jeannine Forsberg; two siblings: Kristine (Jeremy) Dey and James Forsberg; nieces and nephews: Trenton, Jeremy, Kaleb, Kloe, Kaline, Korabeth, and Katianna; as well as the Ostrom family, and Amy John, Dave Weber, and their daughter Addy, who Joan was very close with. She also survived all of her friends and coworkers at Holy Family Memorial. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Genevieve Lawrence; her brother: Eric Forsberg; and her grandmother: Berdine Ording.

Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a life celebration social will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc. Military honors will be accorded at 5:00 p.m. to conclude the services. Joan will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for donation of their choice.
