Joan Marie Lorenz, age 66, a resident of the Town of Kossuth, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
Joan was born on August 22, 1954 in Two Rivers, daughter of Gladys (Havlichek) and the late Robert Peterik. She was a graduate of Mishicot High School in the class of 1972. She married Patrick Russell Lorenz in 1978. She was employed at Mirro and Tramotina. She later found her dream job employed for Chartwells at Lincoln High School as a prep cook. Joan was an avid sewer and quilter. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, bird watching, and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her husband and her family.
Survivors include her beloved spouse: Patrick Lorenz, Town of Kossuth; three children: Jacqueline (Jeremy) Sehloff, Manitowoc; Lindsay Lorenz, Appleton; Anthony Lorenz, Milwaukee; grandchildren: Connor and Finnegan Sehloff; Foster grandchildren: Sierra and Salena Lorenz; her mother: Gladys Peterik, Two Rivers; three sisters: Donna (Warren) Wiltman, Mishicot; Christine (Robert) Tuma, Town of Kossuth; Carol (Keith) Voelker, Mishicot; four brothers-in-law: Richard (Denice) Lorenz, Greenville; Gerald (Rhonda) Lorenz, Manitowoc; Mark (Lori) Lorenz, Manitowoc; Steve (Tracy) Lorenz, Largo, Florida; one sister-in-law: Judith (Bill) Engelbrecht, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her father: Robert Peterik; her father-in-law and mother-in- law: Elmer and Marion Lorenz; and brother-in-law: Robert Lorenz.
A Life Celebration Social will be held in honor of Joan from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com .
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11 th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with arrangements.
A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jennifer Rhodes, Bellin; Dr. Lynn Baatz, Holy Family Memorial; the Holy Family Memorial Cancer Care Center and Hospice staff, as well as fifth floor nursing staff for their kindness and compassion during this time. Also, grateful thanks to her family, many friends, and dear neighbors for their thoughts, prayers, and never ending support.
