John J. Anhalt, age 68, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the family residence.

John was born January 27, 1951 in Manitowoc. He was the son of Owen and Dolores Meyer Anhalt.  John was employed with Berkedal and Shimek followed by employment with Zaug's Food and Vending.  On September 18, 1971 he married Janet Franzen in Manitowoc.  John enjoyed collecting old toys, Jim Beam Decanters, Promo Cars, and was a past member of the Aerie Eagles Club #706.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Janet;  one son:  John B. Anhalt, Manitowoc; one daughter:  Barbara (Michael) Reneau, Waukesha; six grandchildren:  Shelby, Madelyn, Mason, Ava, Ethan, and Amara;  his parents:  Owen and Dolores Anhalt, Manitowoc; four sisters:  Joy (Larry) Rand, New Franken; Jean (Jim) Grall, Manitowoc; Jackie (Jeff) Jagodinsky, Manitowoc; Jodi (Pete) Mears, Green Bay;  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law:  David (Mary Jo) Franzen, Manitowoc; Paul (Lois) Franzen, Manitowoc; Helmer "Junior" (Marge) Franzen, Two Rivers; Shirley Stever, Manitowoc; Jean (Ed) Zahn, Manitowoc; Jim (Lisa) Franzen, Oak Creek; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandson:  Owen Oscar Reneau; his father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Helmer and Loretta Franzen; and brother-in-law:  David Stever.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.  Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and then on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.  Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
