John "Jack-Hans" Frolick, age 86, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, while under the care of Aurora at Home Hospice.
Jack was born on August 26, 1930 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late William and Agnes Kocian Frolick. Jack attended Lincoln High School and then entered the United State Army. He served overseas in Germany. While stationed in Germany, Jack developed his ski racing skills and became a member of the U.S. Army Ski Team. He raced against Olympian skiers and Jack along with one other member of the ski team was invited to the Olympian Ski Trials. Unfortunately one week before the Olympic Trials Jack broke his leg during training. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Jack returned to Manitowoc and started his own ski area known as Hidden Valley for 48 years. He was one of the first members of the Professional Ski Instructors of American organization.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Renee and Gary Ladd, Donnelly, ID; one sister: Marjorie LeClaire, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
