Obituary

John Stadelman Jr., age 75, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life late Tuesday evening, August 7, 2018 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

John was born on May 24, 1943 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late John and Molly Balte Stadelman Sr.  John attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1961.  He then entered the United States Army and served his country for the next three years.  After his honorable discharge he returned to Manitowoc.  John became employed with several different independent telephone companies and retired from Wisconsin Bell/AT&T as a technical manager in 2003.  On October 2, 1965 he married Sandra L. Ouradnik at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc.  John was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church where he was the Past President of the congregation and served in other offices on the church council over the past years.  John was also a member of the Noon Optimist Club, Viking Bow and Gun Club and the Westshore Sportsmans Club.  He was an avid golfer and member of various local golf leagues, enjoyed dartball, bowling, along with a good game of cribbage and sheepshead.  John enjoyed shooting sporting clays and trap shooting with his two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Sandy; two children:  Michael R. (DeNean) Stadelman, Manitowoc; Stacey (Mark) Sturm, Manitowoc; two grandsons:  Gregory "Admiral" Sturm and Michael W. (Cheyenne) Stadelman; one brother:  Ron (Jane) Stadelman, Vermont; one sister:  Marylyn Everard, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law:  James Ouradnik and his special friend, Calla Lodel, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents:  John and Molly Stadelman Sr; an infant sister:  Lynn Mary Stadelman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law:  Richard and Sandi Ouradnik; father-in-law and mother-in-law:  William and Alvina Ouradnik.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 Pine Street, Manitowoc with Rev. Daniel Sims officiating. Relatives and friends may call at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church on Monday from 9 a.m until the time of services at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc with military graveside rites accorded by the Amvets Post #99.  Following the services at the cemetery a luncheon will be held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water Street, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in John's name to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc Lutheran High School, or the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com .
