Obituary

John C. Stodola, age 71, of Appleton, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his residence.

John was born on January 17, 1945 to the late Elmer Stodola and Marcella Wachal Stodola Reinke. He graduated from Kewaunee High School with the class of 1963. John served his country in the United States Army and was proud to be a Vietnam veteran. He had worked at the Manitowoc Grey Iron Foundry for 30 years and enjoyed working on the family farm. John enjoyed spending his time going for walks, sitting in the park watching nature, shopping for goodies at Jacob's Meat Market, picking up dilly bars and getting hamburgers on his trips back from Manitowoc. Many people would recognize him walking about the city proudly wearing his western cowboy hat, Cubs or Bears caps. He was very excited to see his Cubs win the World Series. John was an avid NASCAR fan, and when he was younger he enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin International Raceway and playing fast-pitch softball. He was always respectful and showed appreciation for little acts of kindness. John was a kind man and was well liked.

Survivors include John's brothers: Jim Stodola, Mishicot; and Randy (Ann) Reinke, Kewaunee; nephews: Travis and Jason Reinke; neice: Lisa Reinke; also by other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer Stodola and Marcella Stodola Reinke; stepfather: Melvin Reinke; and nephew: Tyler Reinke.
