John M. Turner, age 52, of 4931 Benley Court, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Monday evening, January 7, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
John was born October 23, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of the late John D. and Tilly Sides Turner. John was a graduate of Niles North High School in Skokie, Illinois. After high school John enlisted in the Unites States Air Force where he served his country for eight years. After his honorable discharge from the military John continued his education at Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Illinois where he received his bachelor's degree in Pharmacology. John had been employed as director of patient services at Isaac Coggs Health Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin until poor health forced him to retire.
He is survived by his life partner: Rick Specht, Manitowoc; three sisters: Mona Crecelius, Spring Valley, IL; Barbara Hunt, Belvidere, IL; Diane (Ted) Kalleta, Cape Coral, FL; step father: Edmund Morganroth, Skokie, IL; dear friend: Lisa Semenas, Fond du Lac, WI; his three pets: Elizabeth, Grace and Sable; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: John D. and Tilly Turner; one sister: Linda; one niece: Michelle.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the funeral services at church, military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Drews Bleser Post #88. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
