John "Semi" Zmeskal passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, at age 75. John was born on September 12, 1948, in Manitowoc to Clarence and Rita Zmeskal. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966 and went on to study journalism at University of WI – Madison. John had a lifelong interest in music and loved sharing music with his friends. He enjoyed his work as a disk jockey and provided entertainment at many events over the years. He also worked part time for Zabel Monuments. Semi had a sharp mind and was a trivia master who enjoyed solving crossword puzzles – in ink! He wrote poetry for special friends and was a kind, gentle person.

Semi is survived by his sister Mary (Carl) Tighe, nephew Patrick (Lindsie) Tighe and their sons PJ and Louis, cousins Susan Kampmann, Corrine Eichman, Karen (Craig) Rodey, Jeff (Judy) Hanson, Roger (Kathy) Peters; and many other relatives and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Life Celebration Social will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
