Jonathan Paul Vidas, age 75, of Two Rivers, passed away at home on March 28, 2023.
Paul was born on February 13, 1948, son of the late Edward Vidas and Emily Perneatta "Pert" Saraf. He graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1966 and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
Paul obtained his Masters in Education (Guidance) from UW-Oshkosh in 1976. He worked with and served as a mentor to youth throughout his career. While working as the Teen Program Director at the Appleton Family YMCA, Paul organized a Teen Symposium for 400 youth which led to a new community initiative, United with Youth. He also started his own business, Nvolved, which connected youth to volunteer opportunities throughout Wisconsin.
Paul was a talented musician and played with numerous bands throughout the Fox Valley and Lakeshore area. He also loved to play chess and looked forward to spending Saturday mornings with the Manitowoc Chess Club.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sue Matczynski; son and daughter-in-law Nick and Molly Vidas of Grafton, WI; daughter Katie Vidas of Milwaukee, WI; and grandsons Desmond and Isaac Vidas. He is further survived by siblings Tony (Paula) Vidas of Delavan, WI; Mark (Janet) Vidas of Minneapolis, MN; and Susan Davies of Freehold, NJ; as well as brothers-in-law Greg (Ellie) Matczynski of Manitowoc, WI; Tom Matczynski of Oshkosh, WI; and Fred Voith of Cudahy, WI.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Schuyler "Pop" Davies; parents-in-law Bob and Phyllis Matczynski; and sister-in-law Diane Voith.
In respect of Paul's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory. Favorite memories and online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
