Obituary

Judith "Judy" D. Boisen, age 68, a resident of Minong, WI, entered eternal life while surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation.  She passed away one week shy of her 69th birthday. But this coming birthday, she will be celebrating in Heaven with her Savior, and children, "Buzz" and Jolene.

Judy was born on February 27, 1955 in Monroe to the late Andrew "Otto" and Dorothy (Brown) Munz.  She graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1973, but her heart remained a part of the Monticello class of 1973 where she previously attended.  On August 12, 1974, Judy married James Boisen in Monroe, WI.  She had worked at the Monroe Clinic Hospital and as a Medical Transcriptionist for the Marshfield Clinic.  Judy loved her flowers and gardening.  She enjoyed canning and freeze drying, spending time at the cabin, and her 5 p.m. wine.  Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family – especially her granddaughter, Brynn.  Judy was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Spooner, WI.

Survivors include Judy's husband, of nearly 50 years, Jim; daughter, Jenny (Mike) Remiker, Manitowoc; granddaughter, Brynn Remiker; sister, Tammy Stephens (Mike Para), Browntown, WI; and her furry friends, Finley and "Big You"; also other relatives and friends.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Dorothy Munz; daughter, Jolene Boisen; son, Josh "Buzz" Boisen; and sister, Linda Alderman.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, N5015 Beaverbrook Avenue, Spooner, WI 54801.  Pastor David Warskow will officiate with burial to take place at Swiss Church Cemetery at a later date.  Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held at the church.  The family will greet relatives and friends at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 9 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m.  Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Judy's name, in part because "Big You" might eat them.

Judy's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the amazing staff in Sunshine Cove at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation.  Your care and concern for Judy went above and beyond.  Also, thanks to Jeremy, Judy's hospice nurse, and all of the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice staff who helped make mom's last days comfortable.  We were truly blessed to have you all as mom's caregivers.

Judy's favorite Bible passage, John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc, WI 54220 is assisting the family with arrangements.
