Jacobs
May 11, 1929 – April 18, 2025
Judith Jacobs passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at age 95, at Franciscan Villa in South Milwaukee, WI. Judy was born on May 11, 1929, to her parents Anna (Hopfengartner) and Clarence Springstube in Manitowoc. She was an accountant for a clothing company in Chicago and commuted to her job from Kenosha to the Sears Tower every day. After 20 + years of service, Judy retired and moved back to Manitowoc where she renovated and opened the Book Nook on Wollmer Street with her husband Fred Eppler in 1983. She remarried in 2014 and moved to Oak Creek, WI. Over the many years in the bookstore, Judy met and got to know so many customers, who she was always grateful for and appreciated very much.
Judy is survived by her husband George Jacobs, son Scott (Sue Goeke) Bailey, as well as special niece Sharon Romenesko and many other nieces, nephews, step-children, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her previous husbands, and siblings Shirley (Martin) Barts and Lloyd Springstube.
Judy proudly had her body donated to the University of Wisconsin - Madison to assist in scientific research.
