Obituary

Karen K. (Heideman) McLean entered into eternal life on November 12, 2025, at age 74. She was born on January 9th, 1951, to Shirley (Oestreich) and Kenneth Heideman in Manitowoc. Karen attended Lincoln High School and attended classes at Lakeshore Technical College. She later moved to New Port Richey, Florida, and then Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a food and beverage secretary for the Frontier Casino in Las Vegas and later worked the concierge desk at the Fashion Show Mall.  She met and married the love of her life, Neil McLean, in Las Vegas. They loved spending time together at Gilley's listening to country music. Several years after Neil's passing, Karen moved back home to Manitowoc to be closer to family. She enjoyed baking, crafting, Hallmark movies, watching football (especially her beloved Green Bay Packers) and NASCAR races. Karen loved Christmas and the traditions surrounding it. Karen had a fun and spunky personality and will be greatly missed!

Karen is survived by her children: Ken (Bev) Peroutka, Kari (Mark) Plautz, Jeff (Steph) Wolstenholme, and Sherri Peroutka (special friend Ash); and grandchildren Bridget, Anna, Josef, Tabbi, Samantha,  Aaron (Britt), Azura, Austin, and Gabriel; great-grandchildren London, Kody, Stella, Michael, Odessyn, Odin, Zyla and Cayden;  a brother Lee (Rosie) Heideman; a sister Barbara (Bruce) Wood; a very special niece Denise; nephews Scott, Eric, Troy, Todd, Chris, Craig and Alex; other relatives; and many great friends (best friend Carol). She was preceded in death by her husband Neil McLean, her parents, and her brother Darrell Heideman.

Cremation has occurred at Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may greet the family at a Life Celebration Social at Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water St., Manitowoc, on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Karen's urn will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, December 8, at 10:00 a.m.
