Karen S. Rank, age 82, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Azura Memory Care.

Karen was born on October 20, 1940 in Manitowoc to the late Walter and Eldora (Leider) Sonnenburg.  She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1958.  Karen then completed her education by obtaining her certification from the Accredited School of Beauty Culture in Green Bay.  On May 6, 1961, Karen married Paul E. Rank in Manitowoc.  He preceded her in death on January 3, 1997.  Karen loved her shopping trips, decorating, and spending time with her cats and family.

Survivors include Karen's two children, David (Ann) Rank and Susan (Kevin) Winnega, all of Manitowoc; two very special grandchildren, Brandon Rank and Chelsea (Ryan) Florian; great granddaughter, Ava Florian; sister-in-law, Joy Sonnenburg; also other relatives and friends.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eldora Sonnenburg; husband, Paul E. Rank; infant daughter, Julie; and three brothers, Walter Sonnenburg, Jr., Robert Sonnenburg, and Joel Sonnenburg.

In respect with Karen's wishes, private graveside services were held.  Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of Karen's cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.  Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
