Karl Koch Sr., age 73, a resident of Manitowoc, and life-long Cubs fan, entered eternal life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his residence.
Karl was born on September 8, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Wilbert and Dagma Zich Koch. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1961. On October 4, 1962, Karl enlisted in the United States Army and served his country until his honorable discharge on October 1, 1965. He had worked for Bechtel Corporation building power plants for 28 years until his retirement in 1995. Karl was a member of First Lutheran Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include Karl's three children: Brian (Jean) Koch, Telford, PA; Jacqueline Hinke, Collegeville, PA; and Karl Koch Jr., Reading, PA; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and sister: Sandra (Richard) Hablewitz, Whitelaw. Karl was preceded in death by his parents: Wilbert and Dagma Koch; and sister: Yvonne Koch.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, with Rev. Roald Harswick officiating. Following the memorial service, a reception will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
