Kathy was a middle school teacher at Holy Innocents and then St. Francis of Assisi from 1977 to 2004 where she taught, mentored, and advised thousands of students in geography, history, English and general information.

After retiring, Kathy volunteered at the Manitowoc Library, helping to stock books and train young people in the value of reading.  More recently, Kathy worked with the team of ESL folks to teach immigrants to learn English and in some cases, more importantly, help them earn their citizenship.

Kathy, being an avid reader herself, was a member of several book clubs where many discussions were had.  She also was a member of the Ladies of the Round Table group that had the goal of "encourage the study of people and their cultures".
