Kay A. Drida, age 75, a resident of Manitowoc, was born to eternal life on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.
Kay was born September 24, 1945 in Manitowoc, the daughter of the late James and Jessie (Haese) Drida. She attended Manitowoc schools and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1963. Kay worked for the Manitowoc City Clerk's Office and City Treasurer's Office, retiring in 2007 after 24 years of service.
She had an unconditional love for all animals and was happiest when surrounded by her pet cats and the many stray cats that she cared for over the years. Kay enjoyed reading, puzzle books, and jigsaw puzzles. She was always willing to share her extensive library with anyone who asked. Kay spent a lot of time researching her family history and made many connections with distant relatives that she met throughout her search.
For many years, she would take daily long walks around her neighborhood, at the lake, or on trails in local parks. Kay enjoyed the beauty of nature around her. She was a kind, compassionate, and generous soul who contributed regularly to the many charities that touched her heart.
Survivors include her sister, Sandie Mitcheltree, Milwaukee; niece, Denise Mitcheltree, Green Bay; nephew, Dennis Mitcheltree, Santa Monica, CA. as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jessie Drida.
A private family service will be scheduled at a later date with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
