Kenneth P. Schisel, age 85, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life while surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Ken was born on March 24, 1939 in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids to the late Clarence and Helen (Augustine) Schisel. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1961. On June 10, 1961, Ken married Sandra A. Koerth at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He had worked for many years at Gulseth Construction and later retired from Martell Construction. Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, and warm beer. Above all, he enjoyed spending his time with family and friends.
Survivors include Ken's wife of 63 years, Sandy; three children, Debbie (Jeff) Saduske, Dan (Tammy) Schisel, and Joe (Mandy) Schisel; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Vickie (Jeff) Krahn, Carol Koerth, and Terrie Fischer; two brothers-in-law, Gary Torsch and Larry (Annika) Koerth; also other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Jim Schisel; three siblings, Bob Schisel, Melvin Schisel, and Janet Becker; three brothers-in-law, Skip Koerth, Darrell Fischer, and Donald Becker; and four sisters-in-law, Kathy Bandt, Bonnie Torsch, Lyndoris Schisel, and JoAnn Schisel.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Blahnik officiating. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of Ken's cremated remains to be held at Knollwood Memorial Gardens at a later date. Military honors will be accorded by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 731 immediately following the service. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
