Kyle R.
Schmidt
October 27, 1993 – January 2, 2026
Kyle R. Schmidt, age 32, a resident of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 2, 2026.
In a world that often rushes past the quiet brilliance of a life well lived, Kyle stood as a steady flame—fierce in his love, generous in spirit, and unwaveringly true to his word.
Kyle was born on October 27, 1993, in Green Bay to Julie (Eichhorst) Schmidt and the late Robert Schmidt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John–St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsville, where he also began his education at St. John–St. James Evangelical Lutheran School. There, he received the Presidential Academic Achievement Award for Highest Honors.
Kyle attended Reedsville High School, earning Highest Honors every year and maintaining perfect attendance throughout all four years. He graduated with the Class of 2012. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree with a major in English Literature/Grant Writing with a minor in Human Services also.
Kyle greatly enjoyed his time working with UW–Green Bay Catering and Retail, as well as his service in Wisconsin Public Service. Outside of work, Kyle found joy in video games and cherished the companionship of his cats, who meant the world to him: Jamie, whom he had since kittenhood and who will turn 12 this spring; Aleister, a loving six-year-old ragdoll, and Bartholomew, who preceded him in death after 11 happy years.
Kyle is survived by his mother, Julie Schmidt; his significant other, Jesse Mendoya; his brother, Eric Schmidt; his grandfather, Donald Eichhorst; three nieces, Calista, Genesis, and Alivia; his nephew, Daymian; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Eichhorst; his paternal grandparents, Jerome and Dolores Schmidt; his father, Robert Schmidt; and his sister, Tracy Zipperer.
