Larry Omar Rusch, age 78 of Madison, Wisconsin, died at Aurora Health Center Two Rivers following a pedestrian-auto crash on September 14, 2024 in Manitowoc.  He was born June 28, 1946 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Elton and Irene (Buck) Rusch, and was a 1964 graduate of Manitowoc Lutheran High School.  On July 19, 1969 he married Jean Scanlan in Manitowoc.  Larry was a Broadcast Engineering Technician for Wisconsin Public Television (channel 21) until he retired in 2002.  For three years after retirement, Jean and Larry bicycled/tent camped thru New Zealand, Australia, and parts of Europe.  They then bought an RV and roamed North America for 16 years, including 12 winters in Mexico.

Survivors include his wife Jean, Madison, WI; daughters Deirdre Rusch, Auburn, WA and Heidi (Brian) Mohs, Germantown, WI; sister and brother-in-law Lois (Dennis) Graczykowski, Manitowoc, WI; granddaughters Jaime Mohs, Wauwatosa, WI and Emily Mohs, Germantown, WI; sister-in-law Rose Scanlan, Oshkosh, WI; brother-in-law Don Schiesl, Eagle River, WI; and nieces and nephews Todd (Anne) Graczykowski, Mark (Sarah) Grazcykowski, Christine Schiesl, Jody (Matt) Van Deurzen, Tom (Meg) Schiesl, and Craig Scanlan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elton and Irene (Buck) Rusch, grandparents Adolph and Hilda Buck and Reinhold and Ella Rusch, in-laws Thomas and Margaret (Kane) Scanlan, brother-in-law Patrick Scanlan, sister-in-law Mary (Scanlan) Wendt, and nephew Terry Schiesl.
