Lawrence R.
Cutlan
January 2, 1941 – July 11, 2025
Larry Cutlan, age 84, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin passed away peacefully, and entered into his eternal life with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County. He was born on January 2, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lawrence and Dorothy Cutlan. He graduated from Washburn High School and from the University of Minnesota.
Following graduation, Larry moved to Manitowoc to begin a career in education. He taught at Woodrow Wilson Junior High, and coached Swimming at Lincoln High School. He met his beloved wife and best friend, Linda (Leet) Cutlan, who was beginning her teaching career in Manitowoc. They were married on June 14, 1969, at Grace Baptist Church in Minot, North Dakota. They recently celebrated their 56 years of marriage. Together they raised four children: Robert (Stephanie) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Timothy (Rebecca) of Delaware, Ohio; Jonathan (Kristin) of Marshfield, Wisconsin; and Jennifer of Beach Park, Illinois. He had 8 grandchildren: Rachel (Jacob) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Marissa of Madison, Wisconsin; Michelle of Knoxville, Tennessee; Daniel of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Campbell of Marshfield, Wisconsin; Madeline of Marshfield, Wisconsin; Emma of Marshfield, Wisconsin; and Katherine of Delaware, Ohio.
Lawrence had a lifelong love of fishing and water activities, which began in his youth on Lake Minnetonka. It was rumored that he and his father were among the first to water ski on the lake, behind their Chris-Craft wooden boat. Their adventurous spirits led them to flying in his Dad's single-prop plane and fishing directly from its floats. This passion was passed to his children and grandchildren. He treasured the time with family in Vilas County, Wisconsin - fishing, enjoying the lake and hosting his famous fish fries.
Larry was an active member of his church, teaching Sunday School, Boy's Brigade, AWANA, and serving in various leadership positions. He especially enjoyed supporting Linda's teaching with visual aids of maps and models.
Larry expressed his love for family and grandkids by planning family gatherings and doing projects with and for them. He planned amazing special events with some help from his daughter and wife for the family.
Cremation has occurred at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Faith Church, 2201 S. 42nd St., Manitowoc, on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jeremy Vance will officiate. A luncheon will follow at the church.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the medical providers and nursing staff at Aurora Medical Center for their compassionate care during Larry's final days.
