Lawrence "Larry"
R. Reiser
February 9, 1947 – October 14, 2024
Lawrence "Larry" R. Reiser passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2024, at age 77. Larry was born on February 9, 1947, to Elizabeth "Betty" (Lyon) and Paul V. Reiser, Sr. in Plymouth, WI. He graduated with the Lincoln High School Class of 1967 in Manitowoc. He was drafted February 1968 and served in the Vietnam War (US Army). Larry was a Field Radio Mechanic as part of the Otter Air Service Big Daddy Utility Airplane Co. and was honorably discharged in September 1969. He was most proud of his employment as a Maintenance Mechanic at Manitowoc Crane, Bay Ship Building, Lakeside Canning, and Georgia Pacific. In 2005, Larry proudly graduated with an Industrial Maintenance Associates Degree from Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, WI. Throughout his life, he used his creativity and ingenuity as a self-employed Upholsterer (Francis Creek Upholstery). In retirement, he was able to focus solely on his business, where he specialized in, and enjoyed, restoring interiors of antique and classic cars, boats, and motorcycles. He loved restoration of furniture, and creation and customization of motorcycle and automotive accessories. In the last few years, Larry was most proud of the on-going restoration efforts of a 1930's Chevrolet pickup which he wanted to finish for his teenage grandsons. Larry also enjoyed riding his Harleys, playing guitar, creating wire motorcycle models, metal working, electronics, automotive restoration, and tinkering on all kinds of projects. He was a jack-of-all-trades. His industrious, resourceful creativity was with him his whole life, and took his craftsmanship to a level of artistry that will truly be missed.
Larry is survived by his daughter Bobbi Jo (Tony) Fischer, grandsons Kyle and Owen Fischer, siblings Phillip Reiser, Jenny Teliszczak, Patricia Derenne, Nicolette Guenette, Dorinne Green, and Paul Reiser Jr. He is also loved by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Betty Reiser, brother Mike Reiser, and sister Paulette Kouba.
