November 17, 1921 – July 2, 2018
Leo W. Templeton, age 96, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Monday evening, July 2, 2018 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.
Leo was born on November 17, 1921 in Iron River, MI. He was the son of the late William and Theresa Bruggbacker Templeton. Leo graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1939. He then entered the United States Army serving overseas during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. After his honorable discharge Leo returned to Manitowoc and became employed with the City of Manitowoc at the Waste Water Treatment facility retiring in 1987 with the position of Superintendent. On August 5, 1950 he married Audrey O'Neil at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 25, 1999. Leo was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #710, Veterans of Foreign Wars Otto Oas Post #659, Eagles Club, Optimist Club, Van's Athletic Association and was the Past President of the Wisconsin Waste Water Association.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Kim Templeton, Bartlett, IL and their children, Luke and Ellery; daughter and son-in-law: Tracy and Mark Duescher, Manitowoc and their children, Ryan, Megan, and Evan and his wife Amber; one great grandson: Brecken Leo; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Theresa Templeton; his wife: Audrey; one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14 th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Otto Oas Post #659 at the church following the funeral service.

Leo was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be greatly missed.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11 th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
