Obituary

Leonard (Lenny) G. Johnson, 66, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life peacefully while surrounded by family on June 29, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.

Lenny was born on February 5, 1949 in Stambaugh, MI to the late Ruby Peterson (Stepfather Andy Peterson) and Beckham Gayheart. He married Janice Barney on November 28, 1969. Lenny was a 1967 graduate of Wabeno High School. He and Jan own a vacation home in Wabeno where they could be found most weekends and summer holidays with several family members and friends. He worked for LDI in Manitowoc for the past 35 years. Lenny was an avid Packer, Brewer, Bucks, and Badger fan, and if there was a game on, he was either watching or listening to it and cheering them on. Lenny enjoyed spending countless hours with family four-wheeling up north with the occasional trip that became a little extended. He also enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his 3 year old granddaughter, going on walks, a four wheeler ride around the house, or just watching "Morgan T.V."

Lenny will be missed by his loving wife of 45 years: Jan, Manitowoc; two daughters: Laurie Johnson, Manitowoc, and Melissa (Joe) Diener, Brillion; granddaughter: Morgan Diener; brother: David (Betty) Johnson, Pulaski; sister: Ina (Don) Lamb, Milwaukee; and brother Herb (Cindy) Peterson, Manitowoc; brother-in-law: Robert Hubbard, Pulaski; two sisters-in-law: Jean Miller, Two Rivers, and Connie (Ed) Stark, Manitowoc. He is further survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Lenny was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Edward (Delores) Johnson, William Johnson, Gary (Rose) Johnson; 3 sisters: Hilma Hubbard, Effie (Norbert) Rass, and Patsy Wobszal; and sister-in-law: Christine (Robert) Craw.
