Lester C. Peach, age 95, a resident at The Gardens at Felician Village in Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday evening, February 14, 2017 at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village.
Lester was born on January 3, 1922 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of the late Ambrose and Mary Pusvayn Peach. Lester served his country with the United States Army attached to the Air Corps during World War II. After his honorable discharge he returned to Chicago. Lester then continued his education at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago where he received his PhD in Electrical Engineering. He then became a professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he taught electrical engineering. On September 29, 1951 he married Harriet T. Szyperski at the Good Shephard Catholic Church in Chicago. Lester and his wife Harriet resided in Michigan for 25 years and then moved to The Gardens at Felician Village in Manitowoc in 1988.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Harriet; one sister-in-law: Sister Mary Claude Szyperski, Chicago, IL; two brothers-in-law: Richard (Jan) Szyperski, Atlanta, GA; Joseph Votava, Downers Grove, IL; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ambrose and Mary Peach; and one sister-in-law: Loretta Votava.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at The Blessed Angela Chapel at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, 1635 South 21 Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald Foley. Burial will take place on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo, Michigan. Relatives and friends may call at The Blessed Angela Chapel at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m.
