Obituary

Linda M. Kolanczyk, age 65, of 1622 South 16th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life late Thursday afternoon, April 28, 2010 at her residence.

Linda was born November 21, 1944 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Appleton West High School with the class of 1963. Linda had been employed with Dayco Eastman and for the past 5 years she was employed with Holy Family Convent from where she recently retired due to poor health. In 1990 she married Allan R. Kolanczyk in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2007. Linda was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son: Francis (Rene') Penterman Jr., Waupaca, WI; 4 step daughters: Kim (James) Jung, Albany, MN; Kelly (Harold) Schleis, Two Rivers, WI; Kris Kolanczyk, Two Rivers, WI; Amanda, Kolanczyk, Green Bay, WI; 2 grandchildren: Matthew and Jessica; 5 step grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Kristopher, Kassandra and Elizabeth; 2 brothers: Gary (Kay) Tobin, Appleton, WI; Greg (Mary) Kainz, Appleton, WI; 2 sisters: Gail "Tina" (Wayne) Rohloff, Menasha, WI; Gean (Tom) Harvath, Neenah, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother: Geraldine Tobin Kainz; stepfather: Harvey Kainz; husband: Allan Kolanczyk; daughter: Dawn Marie.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Daniel Schuster. Entombment of her cremains will take place at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 10:00 a.m.

Linda and her family would like to thank the following during her battle with cancer: the Cancer Care Center and the diagnostic imaging staff at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center; the kitchen staff at Holy Family Convent who allowed her to "flex" her hours as her illness permitted. Linda's work gave her great satisfaction and she always had great things to say about the many friends she made there. And finally the staff of Holy Family Hospice, Peg and Linda, who made her final hours peaceful and without pain.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
