Linda A. Rank, age 60, of 5625 County Trunk R, Rockwood, entered eternal life early Sunday morning, February 20, 2011 at the family residence.
Linda was born May 11, 1950 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Van and Mary Kuffel Patek. Linda attended Holy Cross Parochial School in Mishicot and graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1969. She continued her education at Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland. Linda was employed with Mirro Aluminum, Red Owl Grocery Store and many years with Dowco and Fleet Farm. On December 19, 1970 she married John W. Rank. The couple had celebrated 40 years of marriage last December. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Linda enjoyed playing cards, sewing, crocheting, and was an avid gardener. She also enjoyed the time spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: John; two Godchildren: Kim Rank, Tennessee; Jason Pekarek, Kewaunee, WI; five sisters: Veronica (Duane) Pekarek, Kewaunee, WI; Clare (Dean) Pekarek, Mishicot, WI; Marilyn (Tom) Vander Kinter, Denmark, WI; Joyce (Todd) Ratajczak, Two Rivers, WI; Anita (Jeff) Roberts, Mishicot, WI; four brothers: Peter Patek, Two Rivers, WI; Jim Patek, Whitehall, WI; Thomas Patek, Whitelaw, WI; George Patek, Mishicot, WI; three brothers-in-law: Charles (Kris) Rank, Shelton, WA; Paul (Jill) Rank, Manitowoc, WI; Ronald Sweetman, Urbon, Ohio; one sister-in-law: Teresa Marker, Manitowoc, WI; many nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Van and Mary Patek; maternal grandparents: John and Mary Kuffel; paternal grandparents: Peter and Anna Patek; one sister: Rosemary Blohowiak; two nephews: Jeff Vander Kinter and Justin Rank; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Charles and Ethel Rank; step father-in-law: Gene Sweetman.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Paul Paider with burial to follow at Knollwood Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 pm lead by Deacon Paul Kieffer. The visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek from 9:30 am until the time of services at 10:30.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
