Miss Lorraine M. Liese, age 92, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.

Lorraine was born August 27, 1921 in the town of Gibson, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Clara Schmidt Liese. Lorraine graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1939. She continued her education graduating from Concordia College in River Forest, Illinois in 1943. She began her teaching career in Patterson, NJ from 1943 to 1951, in South Milwaukee (Zion) from 1952 to 1955, Lorraine then came to Manitowoc in 1955 where she taught elementary education at First German Ev. Lutheran School for seven years until 1962. In 1963 she began teaching at Manitowoc Lutheran High School where she developed and taught in the Business Education Department until 1986. Lorraine was an active member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary Society of the church, and Grace Ev. Lutheran Circle. In past years Lorraine was the church organist and choir director.

She is survived by cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 2426 North Rapids Road, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas Pankow with burial to follow at Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Relatives and friends may call at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
