Lorraine E. Minkel, age 93, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Lorraine was born on April 23, 1922 in Leona, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Clara Shampeau. Lorraine was a graduate of Wabeno High School with the class of 1940. Lorraine owned and operated Minkel's Upholstery Shop in Wabeno for 12 years. She married Elmer J. Minkel in Wabeno. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1987. Lorraine was a long time member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Wabeno and was also a member of the sister church, Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. She greatly enjoyed her visits with Rev. Waldemar Loescher from Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church when he would come to see here at the care center. Lorraine enjoyed reading, doing upholstery, bird watching and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by two sons: Charles Minkel, Wabeno; Dennis (Diane) Minkel, Manitowoc; grandchildren: Kevin, Scott, Steven, Melissa, James, and Alicia; great grandchildren: Amanda, Taylor, Jade, Aly, Hailey, Sarah, Madison, Lucian, Sevryn, Isis, Dulton, and Austin; great great grandchildren: Lilianna and Logan due to arrive in March 2016; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Clara Shampeau; her husband: Elmer Minkel; one brother: Herbert Shampeau; and special friend: Delia Temme.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Wabeno. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.
