She was born on August 23, 1936 in Manitowoc to the late John Sr. and Monica (Fischer) Fogeltanz.  While growing up she lived in Taus and Kellnersville, and graduated from Reedsville High School.  After she finished high school, she began working at Mirro Aluminum as a payroll clerk and it is also where she met her future husband, Richard Rysticken.  They were married on November 16, 1957 in Kellnersville.  When their children were born, she stayed home as a homemaker.  After their children were grown, she was employed at Holy Family Pharmacy as a pharmacy aide until her retirement.

Most important to Lorraine were her faith, family, and friends.  She enjoyed playing Sheephead, cooking, gardening, and music, especially Polkas.  Lorraine spent time volunteering at her church and in the community, most recently at the St. Vincent de Paul Store.
