Found her peace on March 7, 2024, at age 66. Peggie was born on April 6, 1957, in Two Rivers, WI, to Janet (Stevens) and George Dennis. She graduated from Mishicot High School in 1976. She worked at HIL as a caregiver for mentally disabled patients for many years. Peggie loved spending time in the woods and on the water with her fiancé Bruce. She had an artistic talent and loved to craft and take all kinds of art classes. Peggie had a huge heart for her family and friends, and always welcomed everyone at her door. She touched everyone she knew. She was the most amazing mother and grandmother that anyone could ask for.
Peggie is survived by her fiancé Bruce Gilbert; her "Pops" Bob Kafka; siblings Bill (Brenda) Dennis, Terri (Stephen) Sprout, and Georgette (Tony) Krajna; daughter April Dennis and "adopted son" Roosevelt; grandchildren C.J. Kronforst, Aleigha Dennis, and Kiera Dennis; her aunts Jean Krueger and June Wagner; and nieces and nephews Bill (Shelly) Dennis, Chris Dennis, Brandon Kafka, Cordell Krueger, George Krajna, and Sam Krajna. She is also loved by other family and and many friends. Peggie was preceded in death by her mother Janet, father George, sister Becky Krueger, and brother-in-law Stephen Proehl.
Cremation has taken place at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home Crematory Chapel. Visitation will take place at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 N. Water Street, Manitowoc, on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. and officiated by Peggie's cousin Pastor Scott Stevens. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Peggie's name are appreciated to Lakeshore Humane Society.
Peggie's family extends special thanks to the UW-Madison Transplant Team, her caregivers at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, the visiting nurses of Lakeland Care, the team at Fresenius Dialysis, and the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center. We are so appreciative of the compassionate care everyone gave to Peggie over the years.
