Obituary

Marilyn J. Bydalek, age 86, a resident of Two Rivers, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Marilyn was born on September 9, 1924 in Chicago, IL to the late Leo and Gola Creger Sonderman. She graduated from Taft High School in Chicago with the class of 1942. Marilyn went on to continue her education at DePauw University in Indiana and Lakeshore Technical College in Manitowoc. On June 30, 1945, Marilyn married Floyd J. Bydalek in Chicago. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2001. Marilyn was employed for 24 years at Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc as a unit secretary until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and served with the church's Ladies Aid / Quick Responders, and was an active member of Sigma Beta Phi Sorority. Marilyn enjoyed travelling, playing bridge regularly, and was a member of the Silver Sneakers Group at the YMCA. Above all, she enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her four children: James (Barbara) Bydalek, Mishicot; Mary (Mike) Fricke, Manitowoc; Nancy (Robert) Kohn, Sydney, Australia; and Christopher (Carmen) Bydalek, Anchorage, Alaska; one brother: Lowell (Doris) Sonderman, Brookfield; six grandchildren: Rachel, Renee, Mandy, Angie, David, and Leo; five great grandchildren: Nathan, Valerie, Connor, Joshua, and Grace; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 10 am until the time of the memorial service at 11 am. Rev. Eric Kolonich will officiate with entombment of Marilyn's cremated remains to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
